In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, Norris Square Community Alliance is collecting goods and money to send to impacted communities in Puerto Rico. Many of us have friends and families in Puerto Rico and they will need our help and support in the months ahead as they recover. We’ve heard from aid workers and friends on the ground what some of their most pressing needs are now. We are collecting these items to send to six local organizations serving the most vulnerable:

  • feminine hygiene products
  • water enhancers with vitamins and electrolytes
  • powdered milk
  • baby formula
  • Pedialyte
  • Ensure
  • adult and children’s diapers
  • battery operated fans and lights (available at Ikea)
  • plastic gas cans
  • pet food
  • non-perishable food
  • heavy duty plastic trashbags
  • durable work gloves
  • plastic utensils and cups
  • paper plates

Donations in the form of items or checks can be dropped off at our offices at 174 Diamond Street Monday through Fridays from 9AM to 5PM. We are also accepting donations Tuesdays and Thursdays until 7PM by appointment.

We are no longer accepting water or bug spray. We are not accepting clothes. Please do not donate any flammable items.

Thank you!

  1. How long will you be collecting items?
My children want to get there school involved but first I have to draft a letter to the school and have it approved. After the approval we would like about 2 weeks to collect donations. You are the only place I have found close to us that is taking donations.

    • Hello,
We will probably be collecting supplies for some time. We have a goal of starting to ship items October 7th and will most likely be shipping items after that time. Items can be dropped off at our offices at 174 Diamond Street M, W, and F from 9AM to 5PM and T and Th from 9AM to 7PM. You can also contact us to make other arrangements.
