In the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, we are working with Unidos Pa' Puerto Rico to send food, medicine, and supplies to impacted communities in Puerto Rico. Many of us have friends and families in Puerto Rico and they will need our help and support in the months ahead as they recover.
NSCA collected food and supplies at our main offices and during our Unidos Hacemos Mas! festival on October 7th. We were able to donate over 35 pallets of water, food, and supplies to Unidos Pa' Puerto Rico and raised nearly $3,000. NSCA is no longer collecting supplies as Unidos Pa' Puerto Rico switches gears to purchase supplies on the island for distribution to save on shipping costs and deepen our impact.
You can also donate money to Unidos Pa' Puerto Rico here. Donations will be used to purchase supplies for Puerto Rico.
Volunteers are also welcome to drop by the Unidos Pa' Puerto Rico warehouse during open hours to help sort, pack, load, and unload supplies. There still is a warehouse full of supplies to be shipped to Puerto Rico and help is needed to get these out the door. The warehouse is located at 956 East Erie Ave, Philadelphia PA. The entrance to the warehouse is on I Street between Erie Ave and Venango St. Look for the large banner and follow the service road to the end. The warehouse is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm and Saturdays from 9am to 1pm. If you have a large group of volunteers and would like to make arrangements to volunteer, please contact Philadelphia Prevention Partnership at (215)613-7013 or Madeline Negron at (267)850-2342.
