NORRIS SQUARE HOUSING INFORMATION
Pre-Purchase Counseling
Our counselors will help you through the complete process in order to purchase a home, including first time home buyers grant.
Post Purchase Counseling
We help with budgeting; housing care and management; availability of grants or loans for which clients may be eligible; information about identifying and avoiding predatory lending products; provides assistance to households facing home ownership problems.
Property Inspection Counseling
We help clients in securing/reviewing a proper home inspection, when require by lenders and/or other programs.
Mortgage Default and Delinquency Counseling
We provide money management and budgeting in order to save/prevent a home from foreclosure. Includes proper negotiation with lenders.
Pre-Loan Counseling
Prevention of predatory loans in conjunction with the application for a purchase money mortgage, home equity loan, home improvement loan, refinancing existing loans, etc
Post-Loan Counseling
Education to help clients find possible solutions to get out of existing predatory loans. Deed Related Problems- assistance with deed transfers; problems arising out of the title of the property; donor taker transactions; structuring transfers between family members; and other forms of acquisition.
Pre-Rental Counseling
Our counselors will help you with the process of renting an adequate unit. Includes providing information on rights and responsibilities of tenant and landlord; Fair Housing Laws; advise clients concerning the availability of rent subsidy programs; assisting clients with reading and/or filling out the lease and/or rental agreement; obtaining rental housing in emergency situations; and following grievance procedures.
Post-Occupancy Counseling for Tenants
We provide counseling to clients as to the state and local laws governing withholding rent; identifying and encouraging the use of escrow agents; providing information to clients about security deposits and their rights to the return of their rental escrow and/or security deposits etc.
Rental Delinquency Counseling
Is provided to tenants who are behind on their rent. We help them to obtain financial help/arrangement in order to cure delinquency.
Housing Consumer Education
Credit repair and extensive money management counseling; home maintenance and repair; energy conservation programs, and other entitlement rebates.
